Why do you think it's a british bomb ?
Question fuze, I'm pretty sure you are right with the id of a M905 fuze, you can see on your picture the arming time setting lock and the steal (or similar metal) part in the middle should be the remnants of the inertia plunger or the body of the internal housing of the mecanism.
