This empty steel box is around 90 x 42 x 12 cm (35.4 x 16.5 x 4.7 inch) and the marking in relief are difficult to reed.

Is this a box for two 17-pr cartridges?

Greetings - Antoon

There were still ammo containers like this in British service in the 1980s, for 76 mm ammo for armoured cars.
