Unknown cardboard tube/container No.11 Mk I ?

My female cousin bought this No. 11 Mk I cardboard tube container in a junk shop for AUD$3.00 (about £1.50).

She uses it for a button container in her sewing room.

it’s about 5 inches diameter and 9 inches tall, so fairly large and squat.

MB would be the Australian manufacturer.

Would anyone know what it was used for?

Thanks, Graeme
