This case was made by Fritz Neumeyer, Germany in February 1918.

Could you post measurements of the mouth diameter (across the open end), case length and rim (base) diameter in mm?

This will give a better idea of the gun it was used for. It is difficult to tell from the photo, as there are several German WW1 cases in this size range.

with such a low lot-number in 1918 it should be a german production 75x129R for the austrian 7,5 cm M.15 Skoda mountain gun.

Unfortunately i have not got the case to hand. Its a friends. The only measurements i know are 7.5cm across the mouth.
This may not be enough for you to properly identify but thanks again!

Yes, that's the right gun. As Germany had no own mountain guns in service with beginning of 1st WW and Austria had not enough long range artillery there was an exchange of artillery between Austria and Germany during the war. Austria gave 30,5 cm mortars and 7,5 cm mountain guns and Germany for example gave 10 cm and 15 cm guns to Austria. The austrian mountain guns in german service were used in the Argonnes and in the Voges Mountains on the Western Front (there may be more places too).
