Unknown Mountain gun case?

Found what is probably a cut case but worth a question to the educated community. Case mouth is 71.5mm, length is 110.5mm and rim diameter is 82.3mm. No markings on the case or primer so not worth a photo. Primer could be considered to be in the French style. Did I waste my money?

Dimensions close to Japanesed Type 92 infantry support gun (case is bottlenecked)
