Unknown Proximity Fuse No 2

Yet another proximity fuse (or part of) - only markings are "scratched" on the base as shown in pic #2 > [AR 2712 A A A] from past experiences, may indicate an experimental type.....................

For whatever reason R&D VT fuzes seem to be much more common than more conventional types. At the same time identification can be difficult or seemingly impossible. Here are some of my Navy unknowns. Good luck.
