Unknown 'Quick-Loading Clip'

Please can anybody tell me more about the object in the photo? I was told that it's some sort of quick-loading clip but I have no idea what age it is or what ammunition it was used for.

Look like one of a pair of "half moon" clips for a Colt .45.

Excuse me. M1917 revolver. .45 ACP. as they are rimless.

Possibly that old. They are still punched out and for sale by numerous sources.

Ah, OK, Slick. It's old and been in England for a long time so it may be from the end of WWI or somewhat later.
