Hello Joe,

it's a German experimental 8,8-7,0 cm shell. These should replace the standard 8,8 cm Sprenggranate L/4,5. These shells in a squeeze bore had a much higher speed and should improve the targeting accuracy. When the war was over these were shortly before introduction.

Attached drawing shows the shell or at least a much similar shell. I repaired the drawing as it was in very bad condition. It's from <Technical Report No. 454-45 "German Flange Geschoss">
