Unknown Shell with Two Driving Bands??

Hello Folks -

Picked this up online, it was advertised as a WW1 German Gunboat Shell. But, having collected Great War items for 50+ years that doesn't seem right. Hollow clean through. Not in hand yet, so no dimensions.

Thanks very much for looking. Looking forward to any thoughts!

- Mike

Hello,
Not easy without dimensions, but this shell looks like a German WW1 9cm shrapnel model 91 (typical bands and base screwed).
Regards

Why I believe that's it! Thank you very much. Pretty crusty, would it be the correct route, to clean it up a bit? Not familiar with the relic shells and the preferred way to care for them.

In hand now, and OD measures ~88.5mms., while the height (minus base) is ~7.5"s (190mms.)

Best regards!
