Unusual 2pounder HV.

A friend of mine picked up an unusual 2pounder HV but with a screw cap held with four screws and a pin. Not sure what this arrangement is rather than the screw threaded cap part of body and nose cap. Could be a possible shrapnel round as this arrangement is similar to early shrapnel shell end caps seen during the 1890s 1900s. Anyone know?. Dated 7/44

Hi 2pounder, I have never heard of an illuminating 2 Pdr projectile, with x amount of screws holding the cap on, I just cannot see how it works, but I am more than willing to be educated on this particular round
cheers,Mick
