Hi all,
I thought I would share this somewhat unusual .303 I found on a WW2 training site a while ago.
This is a MkV blank (Which I must stress, with it's live appearance!), but has a double headstamp. Double strikes from a single bunter and bunter errors are reasonably common, but this cartridge is marked as 'R/\L 1942 WI' then over stamped is 'RG 1943 LV'.
I've shown a fair number of .303 experts and the IAA, and they've never seen a .303 with two different makers with two different years on one headstamp. I have't seen one in 13 years of collecting!
Has anyone else seen another double stamped like this? Makes for a pretty neat talking point!
Best regards,
Simon
