I'm looking for designation and documentations on these 155H HE shells.
I think it could be 155mm Mk I (narrow band, French shape, gaine-adapter for small fuze thread like Pdm46).
Only MkIA1 in my doc (different fuze thread).
I agree with your initial idea that they are MKI HE for the howitzer, especially with that fuze adapter. Found many of them at a range in the Eastern US. Fuzes were generally the US MKIV but rarely they had the MKIII (both copies of French WWI fuzes). Cheers, Bruce.
