What are these small rings in the bottom of these US 75M5A1 cases (ww2) ?

A good question, i have seen them on mine as well, look forward to finding out.

If I recall correctly they had to do with keeping the silk propellant bag near the base of the cartridge case, for better initiation of the powder. Don't remember what the reference was, it was years ago that I saw others speaking about it.
