US 75mm M64 with M48 fuze

Although I aspire to find something bigger and better, this could very well be the find of the year.

It is a 75mm M64 smoke/gas shell with what I assume to be a M48 SQ/Delay fuze.

The lot number and nomenclature on the projectile is "POA 9 1945 75mm M64".

I briefly wondered what manufacturer "POA" could be, and then I looked at the decal (which I initially passed for junk) affixed to it and was surprised and pleased to see "Peerless Of America".

The best part is the price, at only $25.00 ! ! ! !

I failed to mention that the fuze is unmarked, and of course both the super quick and delay fuze elements are empty.

That's a real treasure. The only thing that would have made the deal any better would have been if the projectile had original paint and lettering!
