US M20 Smoke Grenade

I recently obtained this fine example of the M20 . I would think this is quite a scarce grenade . Does anyone know if they were ever used in combat ?

Hi Mike,
Great grenade and I think very rare in that condition.
Are you sure it is an M20?
I had a quick look on lexpev and inertord.com, and it looks like the M20 had 4 vent holes near the dome. The M22 and M23 had a vent hole in the centre of the dome.
Either way, it's very cool!

Yellow markings on your grenade : T8E1
As far as I know it's an earlier smoke grenade M22
