US WWII 40mm Bofors Ammo Can Markings

I am trying to find photos of an original US WWII 40mm Bofors ammo can, with original paint and markings. This is the rectangular steel ammo box that held 16 rounds of the 40mm L/60 ammunition. These boxes were all manufactured during WWII, but kept being used/repainted/remarked up through the 1990's. These cans are imprinted in the steel with 1940's dates, but the paint markings I've seen on all the ones out there are dated in the 50's, 60's, or 80's. I am really wanting to restore my box with original, period correct, WWII paint and markings. Both the US Army and Navy used these same boxes, so ideally, I'd love to see both original Army and Navy markings. These would be boxes that a WWII vet brought back with him after the war. If the box stayed in the military supply chain, then it would have been repainted/remarked many times and the original markings would be lost. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated!!
