Can anyone shed some light on this V40 for me?
What's the deal with the obvious lug on the bottom?
Thanks guys!

Hi Jolly, the links not working but if its the brown one that was on specialists this is what i found out......

This type of body I've never seen before, but it looks OK. It seems the lower half is shaped to fit the rifle grenade adapter.
The body of this one looked like it has a thick wall So it is re-usable as a trainer. The welding to connect the two half spheres
is like the normal trainer.
I got this info from a guy who collects experimental V40s

Hope it helps Dave

Thanks for the info Dave.

I kinda thought the lug was for that. Not being an expert I had to ask for help.
It has found a good home.

I've got about five different fragmentation styles, two of the rifle grenades and variations of the practice and HE, but I've never seen anything like it. The normal rifle grenade adapter needed nothing like it, and the practice grenades were pretty robust already, so I'm not sure that they needed anything heavier - But I guess anything is possible in the name of improvement, got to keep the R&D money flowing.....

It would be great to have a full box like that.... Nice piece.

It was full, complete with the bandoleer and all V41s sealed in the pockets, i had a police raid and the professional EOD could not read, thy slit open all the pockets with a knife, inspected the contents and then gave it back to me.
The box come from Norway.
