Can somebody help me to identify which gun fired this very large brass shell case. It's 220mm across the case mouth, 230mm high from base and the base is 235mm across. The only markings are : GFSP 78 DEZ 1917 Sp197 Is it German ?
Cartridge cases are not my thing but I liked the size of it and the condition, which is great and original. I have had a Morser 21cm case before, but this is even bigger. Thanks in advance.
