With reference to the attached pictures, would you please id this shell case for me? I think all the info you need is on the base and the case itself stands 6 1/5 inches high.
It is a case for the British WW1 era QF (Quick Firing) 2.95 inch mountain gun. It was made in 1917 By Vickers, Son & Maxim Ltd. Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. The metric measurement of the case is a 75 x 157R. Nice find.
