Absolutely have know idea what this is?? Other than I think it's WW1..

It's been in the back yard for years and has been quite handy at times :laugh:

There doesn't seem to be any markings or stamps on the bottom??

That looks like a case which was never finished at the factory. It could have been removed from the production line due to a defect.
 
Cheers Lads, I'm surprised that there isn't any markings on the bottom, so maybe Falcon is right..
 
That is common with these unfinished cases. They usually seem to have been removed before the markings were stamped.
