The new expanded and revised edition of the book Weapons of the WWII Tommy is now available. The new books have more than 300 additional pages of content over the first edition. They can be identified by a yellow banner near the bottom indicating Revised and Expanded which is what we did last year when the revised editions of the Equipment of the WWII Tommy books came out. This is to ensure anyone buying copies from a vendor, eBay or at a local show dont get sold a used copy of the old book. The first printing has been out of print for awhile and people have been selling used copies on Amazon for really crazy prices. The UK site has one for 395GBP and the USA site has one for $555US. No point doing that when you can buy a new copy of the expanded book for $34.95 plus shipping.

Link below gets you to the information and ordering site for the weapons book which has 784 total pages. A breakdown is shown on the site to compare chapters and content of the first edition and this new expanded edition.

And we still have some copies of the expanded edition of the equipment book as well which has 664 total pages and can be found a this link:

Both books were printed in limited numbers so get your copy at cover price while they are available.

Attached an image of the cover for reference to the revised banner since the main image is the same as the earlier first printing. Think you'll enjoy the book. I wrote it and am still a bit in shock seeing how thick they are due to the added content.

As a side note, any orders going to Canada will be held until the post offices up there open up again. In case people don't know it, all of the Canadian postal facilities have been closed due to striking labor up there. Doesn't affect us here in the USA with the exception of not being able to ship things into Canada.

Hey Dave,

It couldn’t have happened without the support ofyourself and a handful of other collectors that have shared their toys over the years.

Hey Allan,

Good to hear the book made the crossing so quickly. Guess it won't be as handy anymore as a pocket reference due to the added weight. But the extra mine information might come in handy on some of your digs.

Just recieved my copy ,many thanks to David for a excellent reference .Rgards Dave

Received the mine today and had a first quick look inside - excellent stuff for little money.
Wish we had a comparable work on German equipment over here.
Thanks to David and all other people envolved. :shakehands:

Funny hearing you wish there were comparable works onGerman items. I don't collect German but seems German reference books werealways plentiful here in the USA. And nothing was available over here on theBritish/Commonwealth front since there was very little interest. Guess that iswhy the British element is cut out of so many movie projects (at least overhere) as they are marketing to an American public and a shocking amount of peoplehere are oblivious to the British/Canadian/Australian contributions during the war.

Also glad to hear your copy of the book made the tripsafely to Germany. We usually only have a handful of each title that make itthere. Collectors in the surrounding countries have lots of orders so I guessthey are interested in the people that liberated them. And the books really area community effort. They wouldn't have been possible without help from othercollectors and researchers. Some from this very forum that have been collectingfor a long time like Mike S., Dave S. and Norman B.

David,

The last one was excellent and I can't think of a superlative that does the new edition justice; I can only say it is an absolutely brilliant edition. This should be on the bookshelf of every collector, reenactor, WW2 military history student (and lecturer), museum curator and militaria dealer. Shrewd investment too by the sound of what the first edition is selling for!

PM me your email address please so I can thank you properly.
