Could it be the H29 Mk1 wooden box usually used for small arms ammunition?
Would the table be an equipment schedule for the Churchill tank? No.83 would be H29 'tinned plate linings' - known as 'expendable liners' - tins each containing belt for the MGs. These came two to a H29 wooden box.
