What is this 78x100R German case?

Greetings
This case measures 77.8 (internal neck) x 99.6R x 90.8
I speculate that it could be a Blank for a FK C/96 (77×132R x91)
It is about 1mm narrower than a 77x230R case at that distance from rim.
And anyway maybe too early at 1902 for the FK 16.
One photo shows that it has been internally machined like many Blanks
It has a couple of stylised A W S which confirm the German appearance (i think)

Yes it is. It's a "Man Feldkartusche 96.09". It was used for the F.K.96 and 96 n/A and maybe also for the F.K.16.

A lot of different Man/Salut shots with different charges existed over the years but most used the full length 77x132R case.
