Another Trench horror ? what is it , looks rather obscure type to me, maybe 18890s with some kind of recoils system, strange breech openning handle system.

So far

It has been mounted upside down, the two top cylinders are recoil cylinders, a trench mortar remounted.
I'm thinking a fortress gun cut down - but whose ?

In Guernsey the Germans mounted a very short barrelled gun into their defences , produced i believe by Skoda , they were not very good as everytime the gun was fired the optical sight , needed cleaning , which meant that somebody risked their lives to go out and clean them. they were not very acurate , and unreliable .

The Answer is --

The cannon from a Schnieder Tank !
