I'm trying to help a fellow author who is writing a book on the "Firefly" Sherman Tank and needs details of the manufacturers of the 17-pr APCBC heads. Can you help? Have you any documentation or can you send actual pictures or details of the stampings on the projectile body? TIA Depotman.

Hello Trevor,

Both the APCBC projectiles I have had were stamped "H. LTD", which I am pretty certain was Hadfields, a well-known engineering firm in the north of England.

Roger.

Thanks Roger - I'm sure "H. Ltd" is for Hadfields - very well known for high quality steels. I'm sure there are more companies!
Trevor.
