Wooden time fuze ????

approx 9.5cm long is this a wooden time fuze,,i can just see some remains of numbers ,these dont show on the photo as they are very faint

Hi Spot looks like a wooden Boxer type fuse,you would open a flash hole to give you a set burn time.Used with muzzle loading ammo(as far as i know).Quite scarce,Tony.:)
 
It's a hollow cannon ball fild with black powder

Not my field but I think they date from the late 19th/early 20th century. The drawing I found was from 1895. Tony.
