WW1 British 4.5in Howitzer MK1 cases

Thought to post for interest a couple of pictures of a 1916 Canadian made MK1 4.5in Howitzer case, I think manufactured by the Montreal Armament Company. Although the case does not have a clear I in the headstamp it is the correct length for these cases, 75mm rather than the 87mm of the Mk2. Slightly surprised a MK1 case was still being made in 1916.

Posted for interest. It is not surprising to find a MK1 4.5 IN Howitzer case made in 1916. For the Canadian manufacturers, I have, the change MKI to MKII took place in 1916.
Regarding MAC, what I have is:
Last MKI lot 141 S inspector B.A. date of acceptance 26 4 16
First MKII lot 6 Y B.A. 9 6 16
Last MKII lot 99 W B.A. 23 1 17
Fist DCPC MKII lot 141 D B.A. 14 5 17
Cases made by MAC and dated 1917 are extremely rare. I have only one 4.5 IN MKII and one 18Pr MKII.
For two others Canadian manufacturers I have 4.5 IN )
CPR last MKI lot 67 I inspector S date 11 3 16 first MKII lot 2 K inspector S date 25 3 16.
MLW "" lot 6 I inspector N date 20 4 16 first MKII lot 1 E inspector N date 26 6 16.

Many thanks for all the information Dandebur. I thought to add a picture of another Montreal made case, this time I guess for export to Russia as the case is 76.2x385mm, dated 1916.

Another Mk II case
The bunter nearly missed.
On top edge of case is (almost) IN and HOW and II but no 4.5
Is this particularly unusual ?
