He has the 47x137 (138) Hotchkiss Revolving Cannon size casing, used into ww1. Pre 1916 either Hotchkiss pattern projectiles were used with the wide ribbed band (Hotchkiss Paris or EOC cases) or the French Navy used the Mle 1888 47mm double banded projectiles, like the 37mm that we see everywhere.
