Thought this might be of interest as I just bought it in France this week. The leather strap is dated 1915. One strap is broken but after 94 years its not surprising.
Very niced and quite rare "Geschokorb" for the german 7,7 cm field gun! I have two of them (only one complete one) and they are not easy to get. The most ended up in an oven or with cut topping to store vine bottles etc.
Where is the date on your leather strap exactly?

It's about halfway down on the top side. There are three lines of numbers. I cant make out the top two the next two are 2 2 the bottom line 15 which I take to be the date. John
