WW2 Lot of Japanese Grenades and Knee Mortar

Just picked this lot up. Two of the type 97s have some paper on the bottom and writing. There is a tin can with a paper on the top, with a grenade inside. I was told this is how they were shipped? Any info on these would be great. Some of the strings look as if they have been replaced. And a rough idea of value would be good. They came in a large lot of items. Beyond nice. All of them. Top dollar stuff. Whatever that may be. $150+, each, probably. The tin may be a fuze can.

Very nice line up of Type 97 Grenades, Kiska Grenade and the Type 89 Mortar Round. Looks as if one of the grenades was a Type 91 with propellent extension removed and converted for use by hand rather than being discharged though a discharger.

Overall value of items depends very much on location of seller. The US mainland prices would be as Slick mentioned $150 + depending on condition, original markings, labels, etc etc.

Needless to say New Zealand and Australian prices can reach up to $300 but if one is lucky enough can be got at half that. It all depends on the occasion and the seller.

Type 97 grenades and Type 89 Mortar rounds are very common so realistically should not command a high price unless they are exceptionally outstanding in which case one would expect them to go for a wee bit more than the average price.

If you want more specific technical information check in the downloads section for the Kirkee notes on Japanese Grenades. You will not find better information anywhere else.
