Hi all
As ever the car boot turns up yet another mystery...I bought it suspecting it might be for removing primers from artillery shells.
It is stamped 'No3 Mk1' and has 'Wynn and Timmins 1940' on the reverse. No arrow visible yet (needs a proper clean), but I have a set of Wynn and Timmins barbed wire cutters 1944 with no arrow, so I'm not sure I'll find one anyway.
I have turned up evidence of an Enfield multi-tool on this link...

If you look at the diagram for 'd' it refers to a "dial sight screw" function. This looks like the end of the tool I have, but mine isn't a multi-tool.
This one's a very swish single function tool with a chunky boxwood handle, brass ferrule and octagonal tang (although that's hard to see on the photo) - like a really fancy old chisel.
I know it looks a bit similar in some ways to one of the old ammunition box keys, but given the 'No3 Mk1' marking, I'm thinking it might be for adjusting the dial sight screw on a No3 Mark 1 Enfield. I cannot find any reference to one on the web and wondered if anybody either knew what it was or had something similar...
