WW2 US Navy .30 M2 large ammo can?

Puzzling, I have never seen these before. At Auction. The coding deciphered from what I know, WW2 St Louis .30 M2 ball. Repacked- " SL-C-81199" , corrosive primed, lot code WW2. " T1EXX-5", early/mid war coding. US Navy I presume? I have another similar navy container, a US Navy Fuze container, that I keep full of my favorite winter beverage....a very good hiding place.
