Wwi petard grenade

I got this 3rd Army Petard the other day. A really interesting grenade. I had read several threads here on bocn about these & never realized that fakes were so predominate when it came to these. After reading a particularly informative & interesting thread (many thanks Paulthegrenade & Dano1917,among others ) I believe this example to be authentic. My question is I don't recall anyone mentioning the smooth bodied grenades as having internal segments . As mine dies. May have been an oversight on my part but would like to hear if anyone else has similar example. Thanks guys!

The French discovered that you get better fragmentation with the segments on the inside. The VB grenade is another example of this.

In your case this shows the tube was specially made for the purpose. It's unlikely a faker could get such a tube.
