WWII German Practice Grenade Color

I have had this grenade in my collection for a while, but have only seen the pictures of one other in this color, gold, only in red. It is not gold painted over red, it is the original color. The exposed gold is dull and faded, but the part that was screwed into the handle, and protected, is still a bright gold. There are no marking on the head.
The handle is marked "42 dhk" not sure if the handle is original to head or not.German Practice Grenades.jpg

What do I have here?

Is it painted in `gold`colour, or is the head made out of brass? There are versions known with brass heads, but they may not be German but Finnish.

Regards, Cornman

Hi.. Normally the top thread is red also, so this is not the correct handle for the top :(
pre-war red was a very deep red colour , much like WW1 red used for practice. the later WW2 practice was a lighter
colour red.
I have some brass ones but as Corman says is possibly the Finnish variant "

Here are some practices M24, you can see the difference in colour from early to later type.
The earliest I have is a 1927 and latest a 1941.

Hope this helps ?
