Grenade I.D Please?

Darren

Well-Known Member
Hi guys,

Any one have any idea what type of grenade this is? Grenades are not really my sort of thing so i have no idea.

Also any ideas on value as i may well decide to sell this item.

(Better photos to come)

Cheers,
Darren

Look's like a U.S. M67 grenade. If you decide to sell it I'd be happy to buy it.

Darren,

does it have any holes? Is it standing on its own or do you have it resting on something? Dimensions would also be nice?

Hi, The body shape looks a little like a Korean K400. If it is, it's been repainted and has the wrong top. Does the grenade body have a fragmentation matrix inside? Cheers

The neck doesn't appear long enough or straight enough for an M67. The shape doesn't look right to me either. Could it be a repro? Does it have a hole in the bottom? Can you see any faint dimples all over it?
Rob

If it is small in the hand then it could be a hand grenade designed by Cardoen in Chilie. These were used a completely different fuse than what is on there now. It was also made in cast Iron.

It has no holes in it and stands on its own as it has a flat base.

It has no hole in the bottom, the base is solid and flat, no faint dimples on it at all looks pretty smooth all round.

Thanks for all of the ideas, questions and info so far. I will get some better photos on here along with dimensions and weight sometime soon.

Cheers,
Darren

As you mention it. I saw an exact copy like that last sunday. I thought it was a fake. The spoon was brownish and had German notations on it.

Hi, I did a bit of a search on other types of ball grenades. The Argentines made one, but that also has a more square transition between the neck and body. All of the models Ive handled have an internal frag matrix (see photo). Cheers Colin

Having managed to unscrew the fuze i have now discovered that this grenade is 'solid' inside and not hollow. This grenade is pretty heavy.

My only conclusion is either a reproduction or practice grenade?

Cheers,
Darren

not a 69

Looking at the base, there is too much flatness at the edge to be a "surplus circuit" repro M69 baseball grenade and obviously was filled with something from bottom. I have no idea what you have there. It is interesting...Dano
