Hi all, Since I don't have a lot of spare cash, I sometimes buy a dug relic grenade and fix it up, ending up with a very presentable grenade for display at a very small fraction of the cost of a nicer one. I thought i'd show this m1913 German rifle grenade bought as a relic and still a sort of "work in progress". I started with a relic dug m1913 German rifle grenade (untitled.jpg image) that I picked up on specialist auctions for 25.00GBP. Step one is clean-up. I have a good Dremel tool and put on the soft wire wheel attachment to remove rust. The small wire wheel gets into and removes rust and scale even in the frag grooves. Next is a few coats of of flat green paint to paint the body. I then go to hardware store and get the proper length of metal dowell to make the rod. I die some threads on so it screws to the body. the dowell rod costs about 4.00US. The almost finished product (thumbnail) is complete but still need to fabricate a fuze. In the end i'll end up with a very presentable m1913 GHerman rifle grenade for about 30GBP. When you're on a budget like me it helps immensly. Dano
