1 1/4 Lb Demolition Charge.

I ask for information on this 1 1/4Lb demolition charge. How was it used?
It looks USA but was it used also by British and Australian army ? Made in which country?

Brown card empty pack marked: Charge Demolition Comp B 1 1/4LBS Mk4.
Reverse is marked: PP2 over V. 79. (1979?)

Dimensions: 157x79x36mm. (6 1/4 x 3 1/8 x1 1/2").

The detonator hole is 5mm . The opposite larger hole is 32mm Diameter.

The British had Slab Demolition CE/TNT 1 lb and the dimensions were different. Before that was the Dem Slab TNT 1 lb and before that the Slab Dem Guncotton Wet 1 lb. After that plastic explosive in mouldable stick form was used, along with a range of specialised EOD charges.
This looks like a US slab.

Very interesting slabs. Mine has a yellow stripe. The other one in collection is blue stripe.
I thought it may have been Australian as letters over a V usually are Aussie. Comp B I know is USA explosive.
What fits into the large hole?

Kiwieod's item would appear to be "Slab, TNT, 1 1/3 lbs Mk.1.

Comp B is an American designation, the British would show it as RDX/TNT. I suspect your item is a local pattern produced when Australia was gaining 'ordnance independence' from Britain.

Try a PM to Pedro or Bombmonki who are both ex ATs (Australian)
