12 1/2 pdr Armstrong Projectile

HONOURED MEMBER RIP
Howdy Crew,

I have the carrier part of a shrapnell shell that is stamped: 5.8.03 QF 12 1/2 Pr ARMSTRONG I EOC L JW.

I can not find any listing of a 12 1/2Pdr, it has the same driveband profile as a 13/18pdr would it be the forerunner to the 13pdr FG?

It has a crimp groove below the driveband so I presume it was a fixed round, any one seen or heard of a cart. case or any info on this caliber?

Regards Ozzi.
