122mm rocket fuze LZMH-1, Czechoslovakia

microplastic

Well-Known Member
Cutaway model of the Czech LZMH-1 fuze used for the LR-112 unguided air-launched rocket, caliber 122mm. The fuze can be set for short/long delay or instantaneous firing and also features a side-impact function. The fuze has the same function as the conventional MRV-U fuze without the side impact element for the GRAD weapon system.

When fired, the setback forces the striker sleeve downwards, releasing the upper safety ball. When the setback stops, the sleeve is pushed upwards by the spring, releasing the four safety balls and the striker is also pushed upwards. This releases the slider, which is then placed into fireline by spring force. The fuze is armed. The sleeve has a zigzag path that slows its movement; this ensures that the fuze is armed at a safe distance from the aircraft.

Upon impact, the striker drives the firing pin into the primer, igniting the booster and then the detonator. In delay mode, the direct passage is closed and the flame travels through the delay element, delaying detonation by 0.012 or 0.060 seconds.
On side impact, the metal ring is thrown to the side, forcing the aluminum ring upwards and pushing the primer into the firing pin.

- Missile caliber: 122 mm
- missile length: 1940 mm
- missile weight: 47 kg
- missile range: up to 4000 m
- calibre of the rocket launcher: 122 mm
- launcher barrels: 4

Hi microplastic
The original article by the author with the illustrations and values you used, including delay, etc., as well as a cross-section drawing of the fuse and a view of the rocket in the assembly... is here: https://www.valka.cz/CZK-LR-122-122-JROF-L-nerizena-raketa-t22273
Suggestion: try using the :citation model, it's definitely a good way to use someone else's work without damaging it.
That's a suggestion.
Don't take it badly....Mikrosil :)

Hello Akon,

Thanks for the notice. Sorry for the missing quote or source, that wasn't intentional. A good suggestion, anyway.

Regards

Hi microplastic
A nice cut of material is always worth appreciating and here it is a nice cut.

Apart from the LR 122 rocket (cca. 1986..) , another precursor, purely by development and production, is the Czechoslovak LR-130 (cca1954-cca 1961)-unguided aerial rocket, and if we go even further into history, it is also the LR-55 (cca.1950 - cca.1961) unguided aerial rocket.
