One of the items you may have seen is the 155 MM Exxtended Range Rocket Assisted Projectile (ERRAP) developed by many countries, but probably the most succesful round being the one developed by Rheinmetal and a co-operation by the once known company of ORD-TEC who specialised in adapting Ammunition for "overseas" customers (you may remember the scandal=company innocent!)this round has the "Knibs" as well as arear fitted "Rocket" motor-these were also available in "Base Bleed" version using the same rear component as seen with the only main difference being the propulsion unit/Bleed unit.

As far as I know this type of projectile is designated as: 155mm ERFB/BB ; Extendes Range Full Bore / Base Bleed.
A base bleed is no rocket, but a mechanism to nullify the drag (vaccuum) behind the projectile. Using a basebleed gives 5 to 10 % extra range. See picture below
 
Any idea were you could buy these in the UK?

Rocket model !

Hi Pzgr40 Just to verify what I said in the original post as I may not have made it very clear at the start.
The item shown was available as you rightly stated in the "Base Bleed" form, but there was another version that did indeed have a "Rocket" motor fitted in the rear in place of the Base Bleed unit in your sectioned projectile (very nice item indeed !)
The one shown here is in actual fact fitted with that experimental "Rocket Motor" - sadly I no longer have that round and do not have a detailed picture of the "Motor", that motor was made specifically for the 155 mm ERRAP Shell and merely replaced the same sized "Base Bleed" gas producing element being exactly the same dimensions.
Hope this clarifies the situation.
