17 Clock dust cap?

My old mate Waff showed me something similar
attached to the clockwork number 17 fuse.

Any confirmation on this would be a big help

Hi Satan,

it's to protect the threads from damage when it's transported first they where transported in a bakelite transport tube and later they got this.

I have a couple of these in brown bakelite.
The only other one like yours ive seen is on a 17B in my mates collection.

Protective cap

Yes, they are correct. I too, have a brown bakelite protective cap like this on one of my fuses, and I believe that it is a universal fit on standard German bomb fuses.

I also have tried the cap in a few of my fuzes and you correctly state that they fit all ok.
