17 pdr Information - Muzzle velocity & Weights

Can anybody help with some specific data I am looking for. I am after official manual data (i.e original manual source data) for the weights of 17pdr AT gun & carriage complete & barrel separate.

Also the Muzzle velocities for APC/T - APBC/T - Practice Shot.

I am hoping that this info is in either the Handbook or Maintenance Manual, which I am going to be viewing next month, but hoping to get info sooner and/or a heads up if this info is not in either of these manuals.

Mark. You could try and get hold of the range tables for the various ammo types, they should give you the muzzle velocities.

(The handbook (1943) & maintenance manual (1946) don't have any info on the M.V.'s)

The 'Particulars of Ordnance, Land Service, 1948' (A Chief Inspector of Armaments production) states under the page for 17Pr:

APC, BC. AP or APC = RTMV 2900 FS; NGMV 2980 FS; VAMV 3000 FS [Weight of projectile 17 lb]
HE, 2T = RTMV 2950 FS; NGMV 3020 FS; VAMV 3050 FS [Weight of projectile 13 lb 6 oz 6 dr]
AP, DS = RTMV 3950 FS; NGMV 4010 FS; VAMV no entry [Weight of projectile 7lb 10oz 14 drs]

where RTMV = Range Table Muzzle Velocity
FS = Feet per second
NGMV = muzzle velocity to be expected in a new gun
VAMV = Velocity of Adjustment (No idea what this means, ask a Gunner)

Also on the page are some weights in pounds, presumably just barrel with Brake:

Mark 1 - 1822
Mark 2 - 1939
Mark 4 - 2032
Mark 5 - 2065 (& counter weight)
Mark 6 - 1982
Mark 7 - 2032

Slightly off topic but in the early 1960's the Canadian Armament Research and Development Establishment used two 17 lb barrels en-to-end and a 1 lb shot to achieve a velocity of 9154 ft/sec.

I think velocity of adjustment has something to do with ensuring consistent performance between lots of ammunition loaded with different propellants.

I have come across the term before, but it was too technical for my interest.
