18 pdr - 1916

Hello Gordon, hi all. Picked this up in a junk shop today. Have got the general gist from google, but does anyone know the significance of the anchor (naval ?). Sadly it's got a circle of flowers tattooed round it !
But I WILL find a use, and may I just take this brief opportunity to say thanks for previous help.
Jes

Anchor

Hello Jes,

I have two WW1 18pdr cases with an anchor mark. As far as I'm aware it is an inspectors mark. Naval cases have an 'N' on them ,

take care,

Ben.
