18-pounder headstamp JQC

Hi

Can anyone identify the manufacturer "JQC" on an 18-pounder Mk II casing?

Is there a good compilation of artillery ammunition manufacturer's headstamps somewhere?

thanks

Doug

Doug,

These three letter strings are unique to North American cases. As yet, I've been unable to ascertain their meaning. They are almost incremental with date and I think they are a form of lot identification.

Above the 'JQC' are there two concentric 'C's with an 'S' therein?

Was this case made in about March 1917?

Thanks, Tim.

The casing is at the Canadian War Museum, where I volunteer. I will take a photo of it next week and post it.
