18 pounder in the USA

Hello gentlemen!

I just aquired this 18 pounder from an antique mall in the USA. I paid $28.00 for it, which is a steal over here.

I have looked around on this site and cannot find what I am looking for, because I really don't know what I am looking for! So any help would be great.

I'd like to know if the fuse is original? The projectile was made into a lamp, which I purchased it as.

Would this projectile have been painted? If so, what colors?

Shrapnel shells were black, HE Yellow.
Shrapnel used No. 80 & 85 fuzes; HE used No. 100 & 106, in general.

The adapter is original to the shell but the fuze isn't - it looks like it is made up to accommodate the lamp bulb holder.
