Does anyone know the manufacturer of a 1917 dated 18 Pounder Mk IX shrapnel shell stamped H. G. & M.
I am guessing Goldie & McCulloch Company Ltd. based in Galt, Ontario but may be wrong. Any ideas?
Similar to Canadian 18 pounder cartridge cases that have a 2 or 3 letter lot code below the manufacturer, I can tell Canadian made 18 pounder shells by the 2 letter lot code beneath the date.
