I just picked up this very early 37mm round. The case is of multi piece construction with a steel head plate.

The case has no markings on the head plate/base but does have several markings along the seam of the spiral wrapped section.

They appear to be: oT 190 (then a maker mark) 1887-4

I have included pictures and would greatly appreciate any help in identifying it. THANKS!!!!! Pat

It says LOT 190 and the makers mark is Hotchkiss, Paris. Nice and rare round.
It was used with the Hotchkiss 37 mm Gattling guns, as used by many countries, including the Netherlands.
The drawing is from a Dutch naval instruction plate.

Hi Pat, Very nice round, you dont see a lot of the rolled cases and i great condition as well.
Best Weasel

Nice case,
Everything is described in this french document. The case is described in second paragraph, case for 1877 model shell, so no crimp groove in this early model (I assume your shell is later modified M1877/1881 with crimp groove).

My sincerest thanks to all above for the information! 37mm is not my main area of interest but this was an instant "MUST HAVE" when I saw it.
I could not be happier with it. Again, THANKS!
