1896 12 Pounder 12 CWT case

Falcon

Well-Known Member
This case was a recent car boot sale find. While it is very tarnished, it does not seem to have been sea recovered. It may have simply sat outside for years. It is in otherwise good condition with no dents or splits.

I seem to remember that this headstamp was made by Kynoch. Is this correct?

What does the "C 1" marking at 12 o'clock mean?

It is also interesting that the naval "N" marking has been cancelled.

Thanks for any replies.
