First one I have seen or heard of ~

Made in huge quantities, but not the sort of thing to survive in any decent shape. The attached snippet of orders are from just one firm (British Rubber Manufacturers Ltd) from a number of companies making rubber covers.

Some other companies making No.80 fuze covers included:
Capon Heaton Ltd, B'ham;
India Rubber and Gutta-Percha and Telegraphic Works Co. Ltd, London;
J&G Ingram and Son, London;
Leyland and Birmingham Rubber Co., Preston;
Charles Mackintosh and Co., Manchester;
Midland Rubber Co., B'ham;
New Liverpool Rubber Co. Ltd, Liverpool;
Spencer, Moulton and Co. Ltd, London.
