Hi. I recently acquired one of these boxes via eBay. The one with a divider.
Can anyone shed any light on what they originally contained.
Any info would be much appreciated. TIA.
The pictures are from an auction house catalogue. I guess the purchaser then put one up on eBay, which I bought. The caption on the pics may be misleading, as the box is dated 1944, and looks different to a mills grenade box. It has been pointed out that it may be naval.
Is there a number on the bottom, did you check the list of containers on the site.
The N for navy mark is interesting. Might not be grenade related, but depth charge something
or other ~
There doesn’t appear to be a number on the bottom. I did look up M106 in the list, but there isn’t one listed.
The rust stain rings in the bottom of the box suggest steel containers that could have container grenade/ detonator size objects.
